Pino-Twitter - a Twitter Client for Linux

So Gwibber wasn’t working for me on the default install of Ubuntu. I resorted to using Ping.FM via IM. Then I found Pino. Pino is a Twitter and Identi.ca client for the Linux desktop. It’s simple and fast and is written using the Vala language. It’s really easy to install into Ubuntu. Just type the commands (after the $ sign) one after the other in your Ubuntu terminal of choice.

riclags@ubuntu:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vala-team/ppa
riclags@ubuntu:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:troorl/pino
riclags@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get update
riclags@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install pino

I don’t know much about Pino’s usability though and I can’t compare it to Gwibber as it was uncooperative when I tried to use it. But after installing and adding my Twitter credentials to the Accounts, it connected and updated with tweets which is essentially the thing that matters most. I needed to restart it after the initial run to get it to work properly, though.
